So it is With God…
So it is With God is a daily devotional of personal stories that move, inspire and teach through personal interaction with God by way of supernatural revelation, other people, nature and circumstances. A “So it is With God…” story is an inspirational, true story about ordinary people in ordinary circumstances in which God reveals a meaning or lesson through common or supernatural intervention. It is a story of how God spoke to you. It is a story that opens the heart and the spirit. It is a simple, inter/non-denominational spiritual revelation that touches the soul of the readers and helps them discover basic spiritual principles they can use in their own lives. They are personal and often filled with emotion, drama or awe. They are filled with vivid images created by using the five senses and your sixth sense. They are seen through spiritual eyes.
Your story should have a beginning, middle and an ending that closes with a lesson, creating emotion rather than simply talking about it. So it is With God includes an element that makes us all feel hopeful, connected, thankful, passionate and better about a life where the God of the Universe takes time to speak to the average person. It confirms that we are not alone.
Guidelines
1. Tell an exciting, sad or funny story about something that has happened to you or someone you know that ended in a spiritual lesson. Make sure that you introduce the character(s).
2. Tell your story in a way that will make the reader cry, laugh or get goose bumps (the good kind!) Don’t leave anything out — how did you feel?
3. The story should start with action; it should include a problem, issue, concern or situation. It should include dialogue and the character should express their feelings through the conflict or situation. It should end in a result, such as a lesson learned, a positive change or pay-off that the reader feels was supernaturally orchestrated.
4. Above all, let it come from your HEART! Your story is important! If you are not sure, write it anyway.
What a story IS NOT:
1. A sermon, an essay or eulogy.
2. A term paper, thesis, letter or journal entry.
3. About politics or controversial issues.
4. A biography or testimonial.
